Let's be honest. This app was not invented for the seven-year-olds who are just now being introduced to the world of Pokémon. This is for the 90's kids who have waited 21 years for a pet Pikachu they can call their own.

Today was the US release date for the app and already my Facebook newsfeed is filled with proud new owners of Charmanders. I caught a Bulbasaur, Weedle, Pidgey, and Rattata myself today. #MyOfficeRightNow

What is great about this app is that it syncs with Google Map to show you what Pokémon are nearby. Then it uses your smart phone's camera to allow you to see the Pokémon in front of you. It's up to you to #CatchEmAll!

While this is totally for the 20-somethings, little kids will love this interactive app. And as it was pointed out to me today, it may be a great way to get kids outside this summer. Combine reality with the virtual.
