Thousands of years before Christ, Greek Mythology was romancing the story line of man flying! Back then, Icarus never imagined paved runways and taxiways. Getting folks excited about flying and raising awareness about aviation is part of the objective of The Plymouth Aero Club's signature air show event, Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Plymouth Municipal Airport.

From their first air show in 1973 to this year's feature, Plymouth's own Mike Goulian flying in his EXTRA 330 SC Aerobatic Monoplane, this free family event attracts thousands to a day filled with plane and helicopter rides, a helicopter golf ball drop, hot air balloon, raffle, prizes, food and children's games.

Event organizer, Tom Hurley, chatted with me about the air show and detailed some of the history of the club, the airport and this exciting display of flying machines that will welcome young and old, those excited by and those who still are fearful of flying! Gather up the family and enjoy a spectacle all will remember! For information call Tom Hurley at (781) 258-0547 or Jeannie Phillips at (508) 746-2020.
