After 33 years of ownership, Phil and Celeste Paleologos are closing the doors of the Shawmut Diner for the last time on Monday, March 31st.

Over the years, many people throughout the Greater New Bedford area have worked taking orders, busing tables, washing dishes, and cooking the classic diner food that we've all come to love at the Shawmut Diner. Those very people were welcomed back Sunday night for one last goodbye to the historic restaurant that has been a part of New Bedford since it first opened up in 1953.

Laughter and tears abounded through the evening, as current and former employees swapped their countless "diner stories", recalling all of the zany, hectic, joyful, and oftentimes heart-touching moments that have lived on in their memories for decades.

Please join us Monday afternoon for a special broadcast from the Shawmut Diner from 12-2:20pm on WBSM, as we recall many of those moments on the air, and bid one final goodbye to a place that may disappear from sight, but will never disappear from our hearts.
