The daily grind is becoming more taxing as Southcoast drivers are shelling out more cash at the pump.

AAA of Southern New England says a gallon of regular unleaded is averaging $3.90, 4-cents above the national average.

Jack Musser of Mattapoisett was shopping in Fairhaven today. He tells WBSM News the rising gas prices are abusive to drivers.

Musser says the issue is causing him to change his vote for President, and is opting for a new face in the Oval Office.

Wendy Lygren of New Bedford says besides cutting down on trips, there's not much else she can do.

Massachusetts gas prices are 28-cents higher than at the same time a year ago.
