Shortly after it was announced that the Boston Celtics were selected to make the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, former Celtic Paul Pierce took to twitter to snag some credit for the pick that he had a hand in bring back to the team.

Pierce was, of course, a large part of the deal with the Brooklyn Nets that ended returning top picks in both last and this year's drafts.

Looking back, the trade saw Pierce head to Brooklyn along with Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry. For Boston's return, they received Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans, MarShon Brooks and, most importantly, three first-round draft picks.

Pierce, who retired at the conclusion of the LA Clippers' postseason run this year, reminded Celtics Nation that he had a part in delivering that number one pick to Boston.
