What do you know, the New England Patriots made another trade. This time, the team has moved up from the 63rd overall pick to the 56th, linking on a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With the 56th pick the Pats selected Florida defensive back Duke Dawson, whom the team had in for a pre-draft visit.

Dawson, who ran a 4.46 40-yard dash at the Combine, profiles best as a slot corner, according to his draft page.

The senior corner had a strong season last year, holding opposing quarterbacks to a 37.1 passer rating and intercepting four balls, according to NESN's Doug Keyed.

For New England, Dawson fills an obvious area of need, playing in the secondary.
