The New England Patriots locked up one of their top offensive linemen, Monday, as they agreed to a multi year extension with guard Shaq Mason.

The team and the veteran guard agreed to a 5-year, $50 million dollar pact, which will keep him in New England for the foreseeable future.

Mason, who was set to become a unrestricted free agent after the 2018 season, is now locked into a deal that will see him make a guaranteed $23.5 million.

A dominant asset in the run game and strong pass blocker, Mason has been a strong member of the Patriot offensive line since entering the league as a fourth round pick of the team back in 2015.
