The New England Patriots announced the signing of unrestricted free agent wide receiver Nate Washington, today.

Washington, who has spent last season with the Houston Texans, is heading into his 12th year in the league.

In his first 11 seasons, the 32-year-old has compiled solid numbers across the board. Playing with Texans, Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington has tallied 458 receptions for 6,954 yards and 44 touchdowns. He has also averaged just over 15 yards per catch throughout his career.

The Tiffin University product has proved to be extremely durable throughout his time in the league, playing in 16 games for 9 consecutive seasons heading into last year.

Washington played in 14 games for Houston last season, catching 47 passes for 658 yards and four scores.

The former Texan will add depth to a thin unit of outside receivers for New England.
