After the 2011 season, Plaxico Burress was left without a team. He's in search for his next stop, and it looks like he wants to remain in the AFC East.

Sunday was a big day for the New England Patriots and free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress. According to ESPN, he worked out with the team. He is on a short list of possible 'emergency replacements'.

As usual, Coach Belichick wouldn't really divulge a whole lot of information about it. He told reporters that the team works out a lot of players. They just like to see who is available, but this is not out of the ordinary.

ESPN is also reporting that Burress has worked out with the Dallas Cowboys, a team that is very familiar in taking on high profile veteran free agents.
