The New England Patriots capped their preseason play with a third win, Thursday night, defeating the New York Giants 17-12 at MetLife Stadium.

Along with the win, the Pats left the stadium with all of their key players in tact, having had all starters sit out of the game.

Rookie quarterback Danny Etling, who will likely be looking to crack the team's practice squad, played the entire game.

Playing against the Giants' reserves, Etling threw for 157 yards on 18 of 32. He also threw for one touchdown and two picks.

Etling also led the way for the Pats on the ground, rushing for 113 yards and one score. His signature play of the night came on the ground, as he scampered 86 yards into the end zone in the second half.
