As the New England Patriots head into the half of their match up against the Indianapolis Colts trailing 21-20, here are some thoughts on the first half of play.

Trailing For The First Time- New England trails entering halftime for the first time this season, after having a score taken off the board on a tough pass interference call on tight end Scott Chandler with just six seconds left to go in the second quarter.

Brady Looking Good- Pats quarterback Tom Brady has looked good in the first half tonight, completing 14 of 23 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. He did throw an interception that was returned for a touchdown by Indianapolis, though it was really the inability of Julian Edelman to make the catch and a lucky bounce to the Colts defensive back that led to the score.

Pats Defense Must Step Up- The New England defense needs to step up and make some big plays in the second half. Their inability to hold the Colts out of the end zone twice has hurt them. The secondary, which is far from great, must play better over the last two quarters and neutralize the Colts passing attack.

Feed Blount- As per usual, the Colts proved to be incapable of stopping New England running back LaGarrette Blount in the first half. On just six carries, Blount has rushed for 53 yards including a 38 yard burst right up the gut for a Patriot touchdown in the second quarter. New England should look to him more here in the second half as the Colts seem to refuse to stop him.

Where's Gronk?- Patriot tight end Rob Gronkowski had no catches in the first half on only one target. Look for him to be utilized more in the second half help the Pats win the game.

Cannon Injured- Left tackle Marcus Cannon, who started in place of the injured Nate Solder tonight, left the game early in the first quarter with a toe injury and remains questionable to return. That has forced recently added offensive lineman Cameron Fleming into the starting line up. It's something to keep an eye on in the second half.

Edelman's Finger- Julian Edelman, who has five catches for 48 yards, jammed his finger after scoring a touchdown on New ENgland's first drive and since then has had some issues catching the ball. Being a true gamer, he has stayed in but some of his drops have been costly (i.e. the interception).

Pats Score After Break- Look for the Pats to do what they always do and score to start the second half.
