After a busy day of deals yesterday, the New England Patriots have followed it up with a move to address their backfield situation.

According to Pete Schrager of FoxSports.com, the Pats have agreed to terms on a deal with running back Donald Brown.

Brown entered the league in 2009 as a first round (27th Overall) pick of the Indianapolis Colts. He spent his first five years with the Colts and has spent his last two seasons as a member of the San Diego Chargers.

In 89 games, throughout his career, Brown has 695 times for 2,829 yards and an average of 4.1 yards per carry.

The 28-year-old has also proven to be capable of catching the ball out of the backfield, totaling 120 receptions on 163 targets for 1,066 yards.

Brown's ability as a duel threat out of the backfield is more than enough to take a flier on him, as they look to add depth to a unit comprised of Dion Lewis, pass first back James White, core special teamer Brandon Bolden and relative unknowns in Tyler Gaffney and Joey Iosefa.
