Patrick, Mitchell Attend Markey Swearing-In

Ed Markey is the new senator from Massachusetts.  Vice President Joe Biden administered the oath of office to Democrat Markey.

Markey spent years on the other side of the Capitol as a congressman from Massachusetts. 

Markey won a special election to replace veteran Senator John Kerry, who is now Secretary of State. 

Among those attending the ceremony was Gov. Deval Patrick and New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell, who endorsed Markey during the campaign.
