Pastor of Westboro Baptist Church “Near Death”

The man who founded and led a notorious anti-gay Kansas church reportedly is near death. 

An estranged son's Facebook page says Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church is in hospice. A church spokesman confirmed to "USA Today" but said Phelps' condition is not serious.

The 84-year-old Phelps and his family members picketed the funerals of soldiers, homosexuals and others. There are reports that Phelps was kicked out of the church last August.
