How can parents make sure their children are safe in a world full of technology?

That was the topic of Thursday night's discussion at the Gifts to Give headquarters in Acushnet.

Speakers spoke about the importance of parents getting involved with their children's social lives and to establish an environment where they can talk about how to stay safe in the tech world.

Robin is a mother of a 13-year-old girl and says the dialog with other parents helped ease her own mind.

Conversations touched on cyber bullying, sexting, and when's the right age to give a child a cell phone.

Parents shared their own stories about how they handle social media use in their own homes and how they talk to their children about these issues.
