NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating a pair of similar robberies that took place just hours apart in New Bedford.

Police first responded to the 10-block of Ruth Street in the South End at 5:21 p.m. on Monday after receiving a report that a suspect attempted to rob a male in that area. The victim told police that no weapon was shown during the attempt. No injuries were reported.

Several hours later, at around 9:19 p.m., New Bedford police responded to a report that someone robbed a male in the area of the 70-block of Davis Street in the North End. No weapon had been shown in the robbery and no injuries were reported.

Police are investigating both incidents.
