Open enrollment is now underway for the state's Health Insurance Exchange.

Massachusetts residents can buy coverage through the Health Connecter until the end of January.

In Greater New Bedford, the go-to agency for the Commonwealth's health insurance plan is the city's anti-poverty agency, PACE.

"We can get people onto the website, help them sign up, assist them in choosing a health plan," said PACE Executive Director Bruce Morrell. "We are designated as "navigators" so essentially what our staff do is help people navigate through the myriad of health plans."

In its first two years, the web site had numerous technical problems. The state spent hundreds of millions of dollars to make changes to improve the site to make enrollment much easier. Morrell says there were no computer problems Monday at PACE.
