Brian Gomes says he has as much energy now as he did when he was first elected to the City Council 24 years ago.

Gomes is once again running for Councillor-at-Large in New Bedford, and tells WBSM's Taylor Cormier he will continue to serve the city as long as he has that same drive and passion. "I come with new ideas. I'm not a lazy guy. I take my calls. I go out there and I feel it, see it, taste it so when I'm on the floor I know how to address it. There's not a neighborhood in this city that I have not been in, or have made an attempt to help in some way, somehow," said Gomes.

Gomes touted some of his hallmarks during his time in office, including getting the walls that run under the Purchase Street rail lines repaired, and advocating for citizens' rights in the city.

Gomes is one of eleven candidates running for an at-Large seat. One candidate will be eliminated as a result of the preliminary election on October 6.
