Fishing has been banned from public piers in well-to-do Marblehead because local officials say the piers have been over crowded by people who don't reside in the historic town.

Others are saying it's racism rearing its ugly head because the vast majority of the people fishing are Cambodians trying to catch squid for personal consumption. Photos taken by local officials show very crowded conditions on the piers.

Other New England communities are facing similar situations. The new Marblehead ruling will be re-examined in about 6 weeks.
