Over 6,000 Cans Donated Through WBSM’s Annual Food Drive

It’s always a sight to see as WBSM’s “Cans Across the Park” food drive lined non-perishable food donations from one end of Buttonwood Park to the other, and nearly all the way back.
All told, about 6,200 food items were collected from generous donors, including 3,800 cans from the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.
Greg Medeiros of New Bedford donated several bags of canned goods to the cause. He tells WBSM News, people give what they can afford.

Claudette Costa of Fairhaven also donated, and says it’s heartwarming to see others doing the same thing.
