OPINION| Thomas: Big Problems At V.A. Hospitals

As you ponder the future of healthcare, please consider how some military members are treated at V.A. medical centers. A long time V.A. worker tells me the conditions are deplorable. Sean Higgins is a known whistle blower. He claims the whistle blower legislation is a reaction to what he's done in blowing the lid off some stomach turning scandals at V.A. centers that will make your skin crawl. His name is frequently mentioned in whistle blower stories.

Full disclosure: Sean Higgins is my cousin. He's related these stories and other regarding the V.A. to me for years. Higgins says it doesn't matter who is president, what's happening inside the Memphis V.A. Medical Center permeates throughout the system, something you may want to contemplate when considering government run, single payer healthcare.
