It may take a while, but the Second Amendment's days are clearly numbered unless we change course quickly.

These "walkouts" we're seeing all over the country today are the well-organized effort of the left to influence a new generation of future voters to oppose the NRA, guns and the right to own guns. Left-wing groups like The Women's March Youth Empower, Peace First, Rise To Run, The Justice League NYC and The Gathering For Justice have infiltrated the schools, which are now using taxpayer money to brainwash students to support their radical agenda.

According to a press release from New Bedford Public Schools, students, had they not missed school because of snow, were to be taught to "make a statement to the public and government officials about school safety." Thousands of students from grades K-12 would have been forced to participate in events related to this national walkout.

High school students would have been paraded over to the ball field, where they would have stood in silence for 17 seconds while forming a giant number 17. Mayor Jon Mitchell, who chairs the School Committee, feels as though this is a valuable use of our tax dollars and our school time. I think reading, writing, and arithmetic would serve students better, but who am I to say?

By the way, a number of school kids were arrested in California today because their walkout day activities included smashing windows, throwing rocks and other acts of violence.

The progressive left has now infiltrated our schools and is indoctrinating our kids to their viewpoints in a number of areas--everything from sexuality to racism to gun ownership. They plant the seeds and wait for them to grow fruit. What will emerge is a generation that has been taught to espouse the left's agenda.

This has already manifested itself in our colleges and universities, and is now making its way into our public education system.

Our way of life is at risk.
