OPINION | Barry Richard: Criminal Illegals Allowed to Flee

Last week we told you that the dizzy Democrat mayor of Oakland Libby Schaff aided and abetted criminal illegal aliens by alerting them to a series of pending raids by ICE. We now know how bad it was.

ICE says the four-day raid netted 232 illegal immigrants in Northern California, 180 of whom were either convicted criminals, had been issued a final order of removal and failed to depart the United States, or had been previously removed and came back illegally.

ICE says 115 of those rounded up "had prior felony convictions for serious or violent offenses, such as child sex crimes, weapons charges, and assault, or had past convictions for significant or multiple misdemeanors."

An ICE spokesman tells Fox News Mayor Schaaf's heads-up allowed as many as 800 bad hombres to evade capture. Among them, one who had a conviction for sexual assault on a minor and another who had a conviction for sodomizing a drugged victim in 2012. Both had drunk driving convictions and had been previously deported.

The U.S. Department of Justice is Investigating whether it can charge Schaff with obstructing justice. She should immediately be removed from office and charged with whatever is appropriate.

These stupid politicians need to understand that by protecting criminal illegals they are endangering the lives of law enforcement officials as well as unsuspecting citizens. There must be a price for such behavior.
