Operation: Food Drop was on a mission to help United Way of Greater New Bedford stock up on Thanksgiving items to distribute to local families in need for their Hunger Heroes Project.

Thanks to wonderful members in our community, we were able to collect 4,750 pounds of food for local families in need at the Buttonwood Park Warming House on Saturday, November 10.

Volunteers from Our Sister School and Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School sorted through the donations right on site. Each Thanksgiving Day basket will include two vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, bread mix, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, and dessert mixes.

Operation Food Drop 2018

Thank you to all who helped make this food drive a success. Even the little kiddos who donated and then stuck around to help us sort and package!

Operation: Food Drop was made possible through the help of our community sponsors, including NBCU and ProGroup Contracting. All collected items will benefit United Way of Greater New Bedford.
