The Wareham Harbormaster Department says Onset Bay has been reopened for shell fishing.

The announcement was made Monday on the department's Facebook page saying that the state Division of Marine Fisheries has lifted the closure.

The harbormaster’s office cited an earlier sewer spill as the reason for the closure and that the closure had to remain in place for a 21 day timeframe due to FDA regulations.

It is advised that check the maps prior to going out and call 508-291-3100 x 3184 if you have shellfish in a rainfall management area.
