One Man Killed In Taunton Shooting

One man has been killed following a Thursday morning shooting in Taunton.

 Gregg Miliote, a spokesman with the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, says Taunton Police received a call around 9:30 a.m. regarding a shooting outside of 9 Fifth Avenue.

The victim, identified only as a 23-year-old man with a last known address in Somerville, was taken to Morton Hospital by a friend.

He was later pronounced dead.

As a precaution, a lockdown was ordered at Bristol Community College's Taunton campus, although administrators say no students were harmed.

Miliote says the investigation is active and ongoing, and that they will not be providing any further information at this time.
