One person has died in a shooting during a political event in Quebec, Canada.  Police say a 50-year old man opened fire during a victory speech from Pauline Marois [[ mah-WAH ]], the province's newly-elected premier.

Montreal Police Commander Ian Lafreniere says there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the suspect.

Two people were hit, one of them fatally, while the other was seriously wounded.  A fire was also set in back of the downtown Montreal venue where the crowd was gathered yesterday.  Marois was abruptly removed from the stage and was not harmed.
