One Person Hospitalized Following Early Morning Crash

One person was hospitalized following an early morning crash in New Bedford.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the crash took place around 6:30 a.m. Thursday when a Nissan Murano struck a pole at the intersection of Walnut St. and Route 18.

The crash caused a temporary road closure and traffic was diverted from the area.

Vicente says the vehicle was towed from the scene.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with what are being described as non-life threatening injuries.

The victim's name hasn't been released and the incident is under investigation.
