The fund established to help victims of the Boston Marathon bombing raised seven-million dollars in its first 24 hours.

John Hancock, AT&T, Bain Capital and Partners HealthCare have each donated one-million dollars to the fund, and more than 85-hundred people or companies have donated some money to the fund so far.

Governor Patrick and Mayor Menino announced yesterday that attorney Kenneth Feinberg will administer the fund, and will do so at no charge.
