One Dead After Fiery Crash in Middleboro

A fiery crash in Middleboro claims one life Thursday night.

State Police say the crash occurred on Interstate 495 south in Middleboro around 11pm Thursday. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

The Middleboro Fire Department responded to the crash, and found the vehicle completely engulfed in flames with the victim still trapped inside. Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters determined the driver, a male, was dead. It's unclear if the man was killed in the crash or in the ensuing fire.

The driver has been identified as Robert Keith III of West Bridgewater. He was 58 years old.
