Officials Use “Mock Crash” To Drive Home Message At Fairhaven High

Wear your seatbelt and don't drink and drive. That was the message Fairhaven Police and FIrefighters tried to leave with students Friday at Fairhaven High School.

The public safety agencies staged a mock "after-prom" crash in the parking lot at Fairhaven High.

Firefighters used a "jaws of life" rescue tool to free student-actors from the wreck. Senior John Stapleton portrayed the drunk driver.....

Also taking part in the mock crash exercise were the Fairhaven School Dept. The Fairhaven Funeral Home, the Mass. State Police.

tsm - Students don special glasses for Sobriety tests. Glasses give the sense of being intoxicated.
