City officials have not given up on making improvements to the Route Six-Pleasant Street intersection, otherwise known as the Octopus.

C-D-M Smith consultants and city planners have devised a new plan that will emphasize pedestrian safety and overalll upgrades to what they call, an important gateway to the city.

City Planner Jill Maclean tells WBSM News, the "Octopus" needs a new look.....

Maclean says the city wants to begin renovations to the intersection this coming spring with the installation of new traffic lights.

The entire project will be explained at a public meeting on December 18th, 5:30pm in the Community Room at Melville Towers.
