Ocean State Job Lot to Replace Dartmouth Toys ”R” Us

DARTMOUTH — Toys "R" Us will not be returning to it's former Dartmouth location. That's because Ocean State Job Lot has announced it will be moving into the State Road space once held by the toy store.

The retailer announced Tuesday the acquisition of seven former Toys "R" Us locations, including two in Massachusetts, one in New Hampshire, one in New York, and three in Pennsylvania.

“Shoppers throughout New England, New York and New Jersey know Ocean State Job Lot for our Crazy Deals, fantastic prices, and wide range of merchandise,” said Alan Perlman, Principal Owner. “We look forward to bringing that same Ocean State Job Lot experience to value-conscious consumers in Pennsylvania.”

Ocean State Job Lot says while it has purchased six of the former Toys "R" Us locations, it is leasing the Dartmouth location.

The acquisitions were finalized last month.

The company did not specify when the new locations would be open.
