President Obama is sending a team to Texas to assess the need for National Guard troops at the Mexican border.

A White House official says the team consists of Homeland Security and Defense Department officials and they'll arrive tomorrow.

Earlier this week, Texas Governor Rick Perry said he would deploy up to a thousand Texas National Guard troops to the border. (Metro Networks Inc.)
