24/7 News Source - The fate of immigration reform in America could soon be decided.

The "New York Times' is the latest media outlet to report that President Obama is getting ready to announce his plans on immigration as early as next week. The move would reportedly stop as many as five million people from being deported.

An Obama administration official said to have direct knowledge of the plan tells the "Times" those undocumented immigrants would instead be granted work permits.

It's a touchy subject though, with Republicans having already stated how upset they'd be if the President ignored their protests and went forward with an executive order.
