Obama, Biden Take Oaths In “Private” Ceremonies

President Barack Obama has been formally inaugurated for a second term.

The nation’s first African American President was sworn-in by Chief Justice John Roberts in a closed ceremony at the White House. The public inauguration occurs tomorrow at the U.S. Capitol.
Earlier, President Obama paid tribute to America’s fighting forces. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden attended a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. The President and First Lady Michelle Obama then attended a service at the historic Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, DC.
Also, Joe Biden officially started his second term as Vice President of the United States after taking the oath of office today.

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor administered the oath of office at a small ceremony at Biden’s official residence.
