North End Drug Investigation Nets Three New Bedford Arrests

NEW BEDFORD — While investigating narcotics activity in the city's North End, detectives observed what appeared to be a suspicious activity in a parking lot on Hathaway Road.

Police pulled over the vehicle involved late on Thursday afternoon, and a search of the car and the occupants has resulted in three arrests.

Charged with several narcotics violations are:

-Marwan Mohamad Almele, 56, Cottage Street, New Bedford. 8 counts, including possession of Oxycodone and Suboxone.

-John Furtado, 45, Bakerville Road, Dartmouth. 3 counts of narcotics violations.

-Jose Gonzalez, 28, Willis Street, New Bedford. 2 counts of violating drug laws.
