Government forecasters believe this year's hurricane season will be slightly below normal.

NOAA is expecting eight to 13 named storms, with three to six of them becoming hurricanes.  The experts say that one or two of those hurricanes will reach Category Three or higher, with winds in excess of 111-miles-an-hour.

NOAA leaders say the long-range forecast should serve as a reminder for people living along the coast to get ready for the six-month hurricane season that starts on June 1st.
