A city wide sweep Sunday morning of local bars and clubs in New Bedford turned up nine establishments that were open in violation of their liquor licenses.

All licenses in New Bedford limit Sunday openings to after 11am.

Det. Capt. Steven Vicente tells WBSM News, nine clubs and bars were found to be open before eleven, in violation of their license.

Vicente says police conducted the sweep after a flurry of complaints from neighbors....

The cases will be turned over to the city's Liquor Licensing Board.
