The New Bedford Police Department has received it's first shipment of new patrol cars.

Eight new Ford Tauruses were delivered to the headquarters on Rockdale Avenue, and will soon roll out into the streets.

The city purchased ten new Ford Tauruses and eight Ford Explorers to replace aging vehicles that are becoming too expensive to maintain. The new vehicles cost the city about $700,000, and will be officially unveiled within the next several weeks.
