The Faunce Corner Road reconstruction project will move into its next stages early this spring with the addition of a northbound lane on Faunce Corner Road from State Road (Route 6) to Cross Road.

According to South Coast Today.com, the state considered the current Faunce and State Road corridors to be hazardous. The addition of the new northbound lane will involve the road to expand on both sides, with cuts made to the center median.

Also, there will also be new state-of-the-art traffic control lights installed along Route 6.

After the Route 6 to Cross Road project is complete, the part of the $22.9 million reconstruction project will involve the relocation of Tucker Road.

The phase of the reconstruction project for Tucker Road is about more than two years away. Town Administrator David Cressman stated that he would be pleased if it was done in 2018.

So far, the Tucker Road relocation project is making progress, but there is no set timetable for completion.
