The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Council have entered into a new partnership.

The leadership of both organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which encourages the two entities to share information and coordinate marketing efforts.

Chamber President Rick Kidder tells WBSM News the two organizations will work in lock-step with each other to bring the best to New Bedford. "There will be a combined effort between the EDC and the Chamber to help attract new business to New Bedford and the area, and also to attract and retain the quality businesses that we have," said Kidder.

Kidder says the primary goals remain the same: continue to build the city's business base and add jobs.
