New Maternity Unit Under Construction

A new maternity unit is now under construction at St. Lukes Hospital. The $13.5 million project is expected to be completed late next month.

Jeannine Fontaine, Director of Women's Health, says the new unit will be a whole new ballgame for expecting mothers and families.

There are 19 new rooms under construction, and all will be substantially larger than exsisting rooms. They will also be "private" rooms as well.

A medical information website ---Healthgrades--- ranked maternity care at St. Lukes and all Southcoast hospitals in the top ten percent among all hospitals in the nation.
