New Director Confirmed for Buttonwood Park Zoo

One of New Bedford's biggest attractions has a new man at its helm. Keith Lovett was confirmed by the City Council Tuesday as the next director of the Buttonwood Park Zoo. Lovett formerly served as the operations director at Florida's Palm Beach Zoo. Lovett says zoo's face the same challenges that any other business does, in the current economy.

The Salem, New Hampshire native says he's looking forward to moving back to the region, and working with the community to improve the zoo. Lovett replaces Dr. Bill Langbauer, who stepped down as Zoo Director in July.
