Veterans in the New Bedford area can look forward to better care without the travel.

Officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday at the new VA Outpatient Clinic on Elm Street.

The renovated facility is already caring for over 3,000 vets locally.

New Bedford Veteran's Agent Christopher Gomes said the new clinic will help with quality health care and convenience.

The facility was expanded by 2,000 square feet to include a new physical therapy clinic, woman's health exam rooms, and a renovated space for home-based primary care.
