New Bedford Woman Wins $1 Million

A New Bedford woman has a million reasons to smile after winning the Massachusetts State Lottery's “$2,500,000 Holiday Gifts” instant win game.

Roseline Viera became the game's second $1 million prize winner after the game went on sale October 28th.

Lottery officials say Viera purchased the winning ticket at Quick Pic Mini Mart, located at 549 Sawyer Street in New Bedford, and that the store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Viera, who chose to receive a one time payment of $650,000, says she plans to use the money to invest and help her family.

All three $2.5 million prizes and five more $1 million prizes are still available in the “$2,500,000 Holiday Gifts” $10 instant game, according to lottery officials.
