New Bedford Woman Robbed In The South End

A 62 year old South End woman was robbed Wednesday morning at 5:30 as she waited for a ride to work at Jouvette and County Streets. The suspect described as a tall, husky, black man, wearing a grey sweatshirt and black sweatpants, ran up to the woman and snatched her back pack containing cash, credit cards and personal identifications and ran off in a northly direction on County Street and then west on Division Street. Police searched the area to no avail. The victim was not harmed. Anyone with information is asked to call New Bedford Detectives at 508-991-6300 ext 320.
