Photo from New Bedford Police Dept.[/caption]A New Bedford woman appeared to be targeting elderly residents this past week, taking jewlery and cash once inside their homes.

Police say 29-year-old Tffany Silva was able to rob two women in their 80's on separate occassions, by knocking on their doors and asking for a glass of water.

In both instances, Silva grabbed the victims and took cash and other valuables, and threatened to kill the women if they told anybody about the robberies.

Detectives were able to identify jewelry belonging to the victims after it had been pawned at a Rivet Street jewelry store, and were soon able to track Silva down.

Silva was arraigned on numerous charges, including unarmed robbery, larceny, and assault and battery.
