New Bedford Woman Charged In Drug Raid

Police say a drug raid Thursday has taken approximately $25,000 worth of heroin off the streets.

Detective Capt. Steven Vicente says members of the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau carried out the raid in apartment #2 at 129 Pleasant Street.

Placed under arrest was the occupant, 22 year old Shanika Fowler. Police also seized 250 grams of heroin and $268 in cash. She's charged with trafficking in heroin in excess of 200 grams.

Vicente says Det. Jarrod Gracia led the investigation.
