NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police made an arrest Thursday following an investigation into a heroin distribution service running out of a Sawyer Street Apartment.

Members of the New Bedford Police narcotics division executed a search warrant at 346 Sawyer Street, Apartment 1N at around 7 p.m. Thursday. During the search, police located 14 grams of cocaine, packaging material, a digital scale and $4,272 in cash.

Police arrested 38-year-old Debra J. Demello of that address on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
